Everett Child’s Bedroom Furnishings
If ever there is a time and place for playful color, it’s in a young child’s bedroom.
Meant to evoke a child’s creativity, the yellow window casing and doors in this space lends an unexpectedness to the design that feels particularly joyful. Deep blue-green baseboards, crown molding and door trim accent and ground the yellow. Together, this color pairing – and a loose schoolhouse theme – inspired the design for this bedroom. The space feels collected, free to evolve as the child grows, and free from the “rules” of design that need not hamper the fun.

Behind the DESIGN
Storage in a child’s bedroom is absolutely paramount. Books, toys, and backpacks all need a place to land – and what better storage exists than genuine high school lockers? Salvaged from Second Use in Seattle, the lockers in this bedroom were originally primary blue and red, and much too bright to feel at home here. Brick red paint transformed the lockers, and they now provide a home for the many things that children collect and cherish.
